Hello Everybody,
A little bit about myself and what the program, “A Pot for Sabbath”, means to me:
Broadcasting this program on Friday mornings puts me in that special and well-loved Sabbath mood.
Every program is a true celebration: listeners call in and tell us about dishes of different flavors and tastes, coming from different origins, different types, and it all sounds so tasty that my appetite is immediately aroused.
I regard cooking as both art and a pleasure. But what can I say, my cooking skills amount to no more than an omelet. Truth is, I haven’t really tried to cook yet. In the meantime, I mainly prefer eating, and my favorite is my mother’s cooking. But I am interested in learning.
You are probably asking yourselves: “How come someone who has been working with Osnat for so long, in such a delicious program, cannot cook anything?”
Well, the answer is quite simple:
Most of the time (actually, all the time), I'm talking to you on the phone, listening to the things you want to talk about on the air, and write down everything you say. Then, when you go on the air, asking a question or asking for advice, I always hope the right answer will come up, and I do my best to put the listener who has the answer you are looking for on the air.
On top of that, I try to make sure that Osnat is managing over there, behind the glass divider, with all the buttons and knobs. If Osnat starts waving her hands and making strange gestures, I know something has gone wrong, and I had better go into the studio to help her out.
I am also responsible for summarizing the show, which means that in the last few minutes I go into the studio and tell you listeners what we actually cooked and learned during the program (and I also tell those listeners who haven’t heard the whole program what they've missed).
Still, I have learned a lot about cooking and baking from this program, and when the time comes and I start cooking myself, all this knowledge will be poured into the plate.
Meanwhile, we will be in touch in “A Pot for Sabbath”.
Enjoy the tastes of this program,
Hanoch Mualem Yosef
